Oregon
The Beaver State. Whether you’ve grown up in Oregon with its lush forests and rugged coastline, or you’re a recent transplant seeking its natural beauty and relaxed lifestyle, there’s no denying that Oregon has its own unique charm. Known for its towering mountains, iconic rain, and a community spirit that embraces the quirky and offbeat, Oregon is a place where individuality and freedom of expression are deeply valued. Named for its rich indigenous heritage, Oregon has long been a state that stands out, much like the famous “Keep Portland Weird” slogan, reminding us all to be ourselves, unapologetically. From the vast wilderness to the thriving tech scene, I often say Oregon is a place I love to visit-but there’s truly no place I’d rather call home.
Oregonians are lucky to live in a state as varied in landscape as it is in people. From the dense, moss-covered rainforests of the west to the high desert of the east, with mountains, rivers, valleys, and beaches in between, Oregon offers endless beauty and diversity. The state’s population is just as varied, with dozens of languages spoken and many faiths and lifestyles practiced. Independence, innovation, and a deep respect for the environment are part of Oregon’s spirit. And while Oregon is a remarkable place to live, it’s not without its challenges. The same goes for all of us.
If you love or live differently and are facing personal challenges, I’m here to help. I am fortunate to serve clients across the entire state of Oregon through online therapy. Whether you understand the magic of Crater Lake, the charm of Eugene, the serenity of the Painted Hills, the grit of Portland’s east side, the windswept beauty of Cannon Beach, or the stark, dry landscapes of Bend, I am here for you and all the wonderful places in between.
I specialize in providing personalized therapy to individuals and couples in open or non-monogamous relationships, such as polyamory and swinging, as well as those who embrace alternative lifestyles such as kink and BDSM, LGBT+ identities, and secular or alternative faiths, including paganism. Living authentically in a world that often doesn’t understand can be tough. Some struggle with feeling like there’s something wrong with them. Others feel the emotional impact of being “polybombed,” where their partner suddenly reveals desires that make them feel inadequate. Many who embrace alternative lifestyles struggle with conflict and fear of losing everything that matters to them.
Now, imagine your life a few months from now. You feel connected, in love again-with your partner, a new partner, yourself, and your life. You’re accepted for who you are and are free to love in a way that feels natural to you. You feel excited about the future and confident in your journey.
As someone who understands these alternative worlds, I’ve seen people go to fantastic therapists who, unfortunately, just didn’t “get” them. I’ve watched friends spend the first few sessions explaining their lifestyle and terminology to a therapist unfamiliar with their world. I believe you deserve a therapist who not only understands you but embraces the unique path you’re on.
